Happy Birthday to me....

Today is my birthday! I love the fact that my birthday is in October. It's such a beautiful time of the year when green gives way to red & gold and browns never looked prettier!

My son gave me a blender that has the wave action so I can make slurpees. Bring out the apple juice! My husband gave me a laptop..used from Ebay..but it's a start and I'll take it! Besides, I've seen some of the modern girlie covers that you can now buy for them, so I'll pick one up. They also gave me some spoons because we're running low, cards, flowers and my favorite carrot cake! The girls at work gave me a plant, Twizzlers, Reeces and chocolate candy corn. The plant has its home on my desk and I've put the candy out to share with all. My friend called me with a birthday prayer that I would be filled with more joy and a new song....excellent gifts!

Last week I had a gum graft done because my bottom front tooth had recessed and needed new tissue. I'm recovering well. The dental assistant told me this tooth was used for tearing, so I would need to eat on the side and wait a couple of weeks for the tissue to mend. The word tear seemed to be emphasized when she said it, so I knew that the Lord wanted to teach me something. I prayed, "Lord, show me where I am tearing things incorrectly in my life". Three days later as I was speaking with a friend (thanks Lisa) about what I had prayed, she told me that sarcasm tears people down. That was an aha moment for me. I recognized where I needed to repent which means I will turn and go a new direction.

God's birthday gift to me was to set me free from sarcasm! He is soooo kind and loving and VERY GENEROUS!

Its been a fabulous birthday!

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you, says God, to give you a hope, a future and an expected end of good.

I wouldn't exactly refer to it as 'joy' but hey, it's a learning process. hahaha :) How's the tooth?
Blessings!
